Forty-five years ago, I met Mick on the first night at Bangor. He was the one who understood what a round was and reciprocated in kind. The rest, as they say, is history.
I will miss his visits and his dry, cutting wit.
But mostly I loved the man himself and will miss him dearly. It has been an honour and a privilege to call him my friend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris, Alex, Hayley and Dave, and his sisters and wider family.
John, Rosie and Girls.
